Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

BEREA, Ohio, May 10 (UPI) -- Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow, injured May 1 in a motorcycle accident, was released Tuesday from the Cleveland Clinic.
Winslow was on crutches.
"I would like to thank my family, friends, fans, the Cleveland Browns and the staff at the Cleveland Clinic for their support," Winslow said in a statement through the team.
"I am determined more than ever to get back on the field with my coaches and teammates as soon as possible. I'm OK and excited to be going home. I would like to thank everyone in advance for respecting my privacy as I recover."
Winslow was injured when he was tossed over the handlebars of a motorcycle he was riding in a parking lot. He hurt his right knee and suffered internal injuries.
