Kerr wins by five shots at LPGA Michelob

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., May 8 (UPI) -- Cristie Kerr only had a 1-over 72 Sunday but still won the LPGA Michelob Ultra Open by five shots.

Kerr wound up at 8-under 276 with second-place Jill McGill, who also had a 72, back at 281.

The entire field had a long day Sunday. After rain washed out play Friday, both the third and final rounds were played on Sunday.

Annika Sorenstam, seeking her sixth straight victory for an LPGA Tour record, had a 74 in the final round to tie for 12th place at 2-over 286.

Kerr got her first win of 2005 and her fifth overall on the LPGA Tour. She started the final round with four-shot lead over McGill.

Natalie Gulbis had a 73 in the final round to tie for third with Catriona Matthew (71) and Michele Redman (70) at 282.

Gloria Park (69) and A.J. Eathorne (70) tied for sixth place at 283.
