Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

BARLIN, Germany, May 7 (UPI) -- Former world No. 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium will play Nadia Petrova of Russia in Sunday's final of the German Open.
Henin-Hardenne won her 16th straight match by beating Patty Schnyder, 6-0, 6-1. The Belgian is 19-1 since returning from an illness and injury that delayed her start thi season.
She goes for her third German Open crown in four years, having won in 2002 and 2003. Henin-Hardenne also seeks her third straight tournament victory.
Petrova won 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3 over Jelena Jankovic in the other semifinal. Jankovic had to play twice Saturday. Shg had to finish a rain-delayed three-set victory over Elena Bovina before taking on Petrova.
