Quarterback Jason White joins Titans

NASHVILLE, May 6 (UPI) -- The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with Jason White, the Heisman Trophy quarterback who was not chosen in the NFL draft, the team announced.

The Titans gave no details of the contract but the Tennessean said Friday it was a two-year deal.

"Now I have a shot and I am going to come in and give them everything I've got, and hopefully that will be enough," the former Oklahoma star told the newspaper.

White recently had a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs, who decided not to sign him.

The Titans' announcement called White "one of the most decorated athletes in Sooners football history."

White, who had two knee operations while playing for Oklahoma, won the Heisman in 2003. He passed for 8,012 yards and 40 touchdowns and twice led the Sooners to a national championship game.
