CHAMPAIGN, Ill., May 6 (UPI) -- Illinois junior guard Dee Brown announced Friday he plans to enter the NBA draft.

Brown, who was named Big Ten Player of the Year, said he would not hire an agent, meaning he can change his mind and return to the Illinois team.

The draft will be conducted June 28. The deadline for players to withdraw is June 21.

"We certainly understand Dee and his family's desire to more closely explore his NBA options and gain a better understanding of where his position would be in the draft," Illinois Coach Bruce Weber said.

Brown averaged 13.3 points a game this season and hit 43.4 per cent of his three-point shots.
