Browns worried about Kellen Winslow's knee

BEREA, Ohio, May 5 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Browns are concerned about the status of tight end Kellen Winslow Jr., who was injured in a motorcycle accident this week.

"Kellen's internal injuries remain stable and are improving," the Browns said on their Web site Wednesday. "The concern remains with his right knee, which will continue to be re-evaluated.

Various reports have indicated that Winslow's injuries from the Sunday accident, in which he was tossed over the handlebars of a newly purchased motorcycle while driving in a parking lot, included a sprained ligament in a knee, a separated shoulder, broken ribs and a bruised lung.

Winslow missed most of his rookie season last year because of a knee injury.

The Browns said Winslow remained in the Cleveland Clinic with no timetable for his release.
