ATLANTA, May 1 (UPI) -- Rafael Furcal doubled in a run and rookie Ryan Langerhans singled in another in the sixth inning Sunday to lead Atlanta to a 2-1 win over St. Louis.
Winning pitcher John Smoltz scattered nine hits and one run over 6 2/3 innings, improving to 2-3 and helping the Braves win for the fourth time in their last five games. Brad Kolb picked up his seventh save.

Loser Jeff Suppan fell to 2-3, allowing two runs and four hits over seven innings.
Jim Edmonds drove in the Cardinals' lone run.
