SAN DIEGO, April 30 (UPI) -- Phil Nevin went 3-for-8 with a home run and two RBI Friday to lead San Diego to a 5-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Padres reliever Chris Hammond (2-0) earned the win with two scoreless innings of work.

Reliever Brandon Lyon (0-2) took the loss, permitting one run on two hits in 1/3 of an inning.
Arizona was paced by Luis Gonzalez, who went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, and Troy Glaus, who had two hits, including his seventh home run of the season.
