MLB: Atlanta 3, St. Louis 2

ATLANTA, April 30 (UPI) -- Raul Mondesi homered to to lead off the bottom of the ninth Saturday as the Atlanta Braves rallied for a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Andruw Jones had three hits for Atlanta, which has won seven of its last nine games.

Dan Kolb (1-2) earned his first victory as a Brave after retiring the side in order in the top of the ninth.

Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina each had two hits and an RBI for St. Louis, which led 2-1 after six innings.

Cardinals starter Matt Morris gave up just one run on four hits and one walk while striking out eight in those six innings.

Atlanta starter John Thomson gave up two runs, one unearned, and struck out five in six innings.
