Schilling put on disabled list

BOSTON, April 29 (UPI) -- The Boston Red Sox put ace Curt Schilling on the 15-day disabled list Friday because of an ankle injury.

The 38-year-old right-hander has a bone bruise on his right ankle. He had surgery on the ankle during the off-season.

Last year, Schilling had 21 wins and an ERA of 3.26. This season he is 1-2 with a 7.13 ERA.
