NBA: Dallas 106, Houston 102

HOUSTON, April 28 (UPI) -- Michael Finley started Dallas on a 20-point run in the fourth period Thursday night as the Mavericks overcame Houston, 106-102.

Dallas fought its way back into the opening round series, but still trails, 2-1. The fourth game of the best-of-seven series will be played in Houston on Saturday.

Houston overcame a halftime deficit and appeared headed toward a 3-0 lead.

The Rockets owned an 88-80 lead with 9:31 remaining and they then went almost seven minutes without scoring a point.

Six players scored during the 20-point run that gave Dallas a 100-88 cushion. Jason Terry put the Mavericks in front for good with six minutes to go with a pair of free throws.

Dirk Nowitzki paced the Mavericks with 28 points and Finley had 20.

Tracy McGrady led Houston with 28 points. The Rockets had won their previous nine games.
