MLB: Chi. Cubs 3, Houston 2

HOUSTON, April 29 (UPI) -- A homer and two RBI by Jeromy Burnitz Friday night allowed Greg Maddux to walk away a winner as the Chicago Cubs downed Houston, 3-2.

Maddux faced off against Roger Clemens in what was the first meeting of 300-game winners in 18 seasons.

Thanks to the home run by Burnitz, Maddux (1-1) won the 306th game of his career. Clemens (1-1) had a 24 inning scoreless streak snapped as he was unable to pick up win No. 330.

Clemens is tied for ninth on the all-time win list with Steve Carlton.
