The Orioles won their sixth straight game, advancing to 15-7 as they opened a 12-game homestand. They have not been in first place this late in the season since 1997, when they won the division title.
Hideo Nomo (2-3) took the loss, surrendering five runs on eight hits in 6 1/3.
Tejada supplied all the offense Baltimore needed with his three-run blast in the first inning.
