Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

WARSAW, Poland, April 29 (UPI) -- Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin-Hardenne, both of whom are on hot streaks, reached the semifinals Friday at the J&S Cup.
The Belgian players have combined to win 26 straight matches. They chose not to play for Belgium, however, in the opening round of the Fed Cup last week. As a result, the United States cruised past Belgium.
Clijsters, winner of 17 straight matches, defeated Elena Bovina on Friday, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. Clijsters is seeking her third straight title, having picked up trophies at Indian Wells and Miami.
She will play Svetlana Kuznetsova in Saturday's semifinals.
Henin-Hardenne defeated Patty Schnyder, 6-1, 6-2. Her semifinal opponent will be Ana Ivanovic.
