Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 28 (UPI) -- Ken Harvey, Kansas City's lone member of the American League All-Star Team last season, is back with the Royals after a stint in the minors.
The first baseman was recalled from Triple-A Omaha Thursday.
"We wanted Harvey to work on his approach at the plate," Manager Tony Pena said. "He's done that and we needed a bat."
Harvey, 27, hit .287 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI in 120 games last season.
This year, he was sent to the minors in the final week of spring training. He was batting .375 with three homers and 14 RBI in 18 games at Omaha.
