NEW YORK, April 28 (UPI) -- John Lackey outpitched Kevin Brown Thursday night as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the New York Yankees, 3-1.
The Angels won the final two games of the three-game series with Lackey (2-1) scattering seven hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Francisco Rodriguez picked up his fifth save of the year with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Brown (0-3) allowed three runs on eight hits in seven innings, but failed to receive enough support. Brown has gone nine straight starts without a victory.
Darin Ersted and Vladimir Guerrero both had RBI singles in helping the Angels to their fourth win in six games.
