OAKLAND, Calif., April 26 (UPI) -- Jon Garland tossed a four-hitter to lead the Chicago White Sox to their eighth straight victory Monday, a 6-0 decision over Oakland.
Garland (4-0) retired the final 13 Oakland batters.

Chris Widger hit a two-run home run and Carl Everett and Paul Konerko each drove in two runs for the White Sox.
Oakland starter Barry Zito (0-4) took the loss, yielding four runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings.
