Roddick reaches clay court semifinal

HOUSTON, April 22 (UPI) -- Andy Roddick stormed into the semifinals of the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships Friday while defending titleholder Tommy Haas was eliminated.

Roddick recorded a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Luis Horna.

The two-time defending champion will meet Jurgen Melzer in the semifinals after Melzer ousted Haas, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. Haas had been on a seven-match winning streak in this event and defeated Roddick in last year's final.
