KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 22 (UPI) -- Freddy Garcia allowed two runs on four hits in seven innings Friday night, carrying the Chicago White Sox to an 8-2 win over Kansas City.

Chicago matched the best start to a season (13-4) in franchise history. The White Sox produced the same record in 1912, 1919 and 1935. They have won five in a row.

Tadahito Iguchi and Juan Uribe had two RBI each for Chicago. Garcia (2-1) retired 12 straight at one point and then was backed up by relievers Cliff Politte and Damaso Marte.

Chicago's Joe Crede hit in his 13th straight game, the longest current streak in the majors.
