WASHINGTON, April 21 (UPI) -- Atlanta scored two runs in the ninth inning on a throwing error by Washington shortstop Christian Guzman Thursday for a 2-1 win over the Nationals.

The Braves' Marcus Giles led off the inning with a single and after a walk, a single by Johnny Estrada and two strikeouts, Guzman threw wildly to first on a grounder by Raul Mondesi, enabling Giles and Jones to score.

Danny Kolb pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his fifth save of the season.

Jose Guillen drove in Washington's run.
