MLB: Baltimore 8, Detroit 4

BALTIMORE, April 19 (UPI) -- Brian Roberts hit a three-run homer Tuesday to lead the Baltimore Orioles to an 8-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Roberts hit his sixth home run of the season and extended his hitting streak to 19 games dating back to last season.

Miguel Tejada and Rafael Palmeiro also homered for the Orioles, who posted their seventh win in their last nine games.

Baltimore starter Sidney Ponson (2-1) got the victory after giving up four runs on nine hits in six innings.

Rondell White had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Tigers.
