CADIZ, Spain, April 16 (UPI) -- Peter Hanson of Sweden shot a 1-under 71 Saturday to take a two-stroke lead after three rounds of the Spanish Open.

Hanson, 27, is 7-under 209 through 54 holes. Hennie Otto of South Africa shot a 69 to move into second place at 211.

Jose Manuel Lara of Spain tied for the low round of the day with a 68 to tied for third, at 213, Paul Lawrie (69) of Scotland.

"I got off to a great start with two early birdies, but then the back nine was very difficult," said Hanson, whose best finish on the European Tour was a second at last year's Scandinavian Masters.

Peter Gustafsson and Robert Karlsson, both from Sweden, are tied for fifth at 214 with Peter Lawrie of Ireland.
