MEMPHIS, April 10 (UPI) -- Shane Battier scored 25 points Sunday night as Memphis inched closer to the playoffs with a 102-95 victory over Charlotte.
The Grizzlies are in eighth place in the Western Conference, a comfortable 4 1/2 games ahead of Minnesota in the chase for the final post-season berth.

Mike Miller contributed 21 points and Pau Gasol and Lorenzen Wright had 16 each.
It was Memphis' third straight win.
Charlotte, which has lost eight in a row, was led by Brevin Knight with 22.
Charlotte reduced what had been a 10-point lead at the end of three quarters down to four late in the game. But a five-point Memphis run put it out of reach.
