Davenport wins another title

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla., April 10 (UPI) -- Lindsay Davenport outlasted Silvia Farina Elia, 7-5, 7-5, Sunday to win the Bausch & Lomb Championships for the second straight year.

Davenport, ranked No. 1 in the world, had seven aces in what was her fifth straight title match.

She is 24-4 this season with wins in 14 of her last 15 matches. Her only loss in that span came in the final at Indian Wells last month to Kim Clijsters.

Davenport has also been a runner-up this year to Serena Williams at the Australian Open and to Maria Sharapova in Tokyo.
