TORONTO, April 9 (UPI) -- Consecutive homers by Vernon Wells, Corey Koskie and Shea Hillenbrand in the third inning Saturday sent Toronto sailing past Boston, 12-5.
Gregg Zaun contributed a grand slam homer for the Blue Jays as Toronto put the game away with a six-run eighth.
Jason Frasor (1-0) retired the only four batters he faced to get the victory.
Zaun had five RBI overall, helping Toronto won for the third time in its five games this season.
Boston got a three-run homer from David Ortiz. The Red Sox played once more without Manager Terry Francona, who has been out of action since last Wednesday.
Francona, who has been given a clean bill of health after suffering chest pains prior to a game against the New York Yankees on Wednesday, is expected to return to the bench on Monday.
