Davenport to play for championship

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla., April 9 (UPI) -- Lindsay Davenport reached the title match of the Bausch & Lomb Championships Saturday with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Nadia Petrova.

Davenport will face Silvia Farina Elia in Sunday's championship showdown.

Davenport, top ranked player in women's tennis, is the defending champion in this event. She defeated Venus Williams in three sets to get to the semifinals.

Farina Elia made it to the final by defeating Virginie Razzano, 6-1, 6-3.

Davenport has won six of her seven previous meetings with Elia.
