Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW YORK, March 21 (UPI) -- Stephon Marbury had 31 points,10 assists and six rebounds Monday night to carry the New York Knicks to an 88-75 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs played their first game without injured forward Tim Duncan. Duncan suffered a severely sprained right ankle Sunday night in a loss at Detroit and is expected to be out two to four weeks.
San Antonio scored only 13 third-quarter points and was held without a field goal for nearly 11 1/2 minutes during a span that bridged the final two quarters. During that time, the Knicks outscored the Spurs 25-1.
Malik Rose had 18 points and seven rebounds in his first game against his former team. Rose went from the Spurs to the Knicks in a trade.
