Johnson gets first senior win by 4 shots

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 20 (UPI) -- Mark Johnson had an eagle on the final hole Sunday to post a 70 and win the Toshiba Senior Classic by four strokes with a 13-under-par 200.

Keith Fergus had closed within two strokes of Johnson, but was unable to get any closer as had a 71 Sunday. He tied at 9-under 204 with Wayne Levi. John Bland, first-round leader Gil Morgan and Don Pooley tied for fourth at 205.

Johnson, 50, had two late eagles in the third and final round. On the final hole he had to play out of the trees back to the fairway with his second shot, then hit a wedge for this third. The ball bounced past the cup, but spun back into the hole.
