SANYA, China, March 20 (UPI) -- Paul Casey of England birdied the second hole of a playoff and won the TCL Classic in China Sunday over Ireland's Paul McGinley.
Casey and McGinley finished 72 holes tied at 22-under-par 266 and both made par on the first playoff hole. Casey's birdie then gave him his fourth European Tour win.
"I felt that I played good golf all week and I think the reason for that was that I felt quite at home here," Casey said. "The place is fantastic and the people are so friendly, and the course also reminds me of a few back home in England."
Thomas Bjorn, Chawalit Plaphol and Wook-Soon Kang tied for third place.
The tournament at the Yalong Bay Golf Club on Hainan Island was part of the European Tour international schedule for the first time this year.
