Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

SAN FRANCISCO, March 17 (UPI) -- Tyrone Riley's late basket forced overtime Wednesday night and San Francisco defeated Denver, 69-67 in the opening round of the NIT.
San Francisco will face Cal. St. Fullerton in the next round.
John Cox had 27 points and Riley had 16, boosting San Francisco to 17-13.
Yemi Nicholson had 15 for Denver (20-11).
Denver lost despite hitting 68 percent of its second-half shots. San Francisco made 52 percent for the game.
