COL BKB: Pacific 79, Pittsburgh 71

BOISE, Idaho, March 17 (UPI) -- Christian Maraker and David Doubley scored 17 points each to lead Pacific to a 79-71 first-round NCAA Tournament win over Pittsburgh.

The Tigers (27-3), seeded eighth in the Albuquerque bracket, also got 15 points from Mike Webb.

Pacific led throughout the contest, by up to 17 points.

Carl Krauser led the Panthers, who fought back but couldn't catch up, with 27 points.

Pittsburgh, which had reached the Sweet 16 round the past three years, ended its season at 20-9.
