Johnson wins 400 in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, March 13 (UPI) -- Jimmie Johnson won Sunday's UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway by finishing 1.661 seconds ahead of runnerup Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch.

It was Johnson's first triumph this season but the 15th of his career.

Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick were fourth and fifth respectively.

Two-time defending champion Matt Kenseth was eighth.

The fourth event of the 36-race 2005 Nextel Cup schedule is set for Sunday, March 20th at the Atlanta Motor Speedway where Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the defending race champion.
