Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW YORK, March 1 (UPI) -- The 2005 NFL free agency signing period begins Wednesday.
A list of eligible players is sent by the league to all clubs.
Some of the known names are cornerback Ty Law, who was released by New England; defensive end Vonnie Holliday (Kansas City), defensive back Samari Rolle (Tennessee), linebacker Roman Phifer (New England), quarterbacks Drew Bledsoe (Buffalo) and Jeff Garcia (Cleveland) and wide receiver David Terrell (Chicago).
In 2004, 124 of 310 unrestricted free agents signed with new teams.
