BOSTON, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- One day after he was diagnosed as having suffered a mild stroke, New England linebacker Tedy Bruschi was released from a hospital Friday.

Bruschi was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital Wednesday, suffering from headaches, blurred vision and brief numbness.

The Patriots issued a statement saying Bruschi had suffered a mild stroke.

Bruschi, however, felt normal on Thursday and doctors allowed him to go home Friday.

The New England linebacker has been part of the Patriots' three Super Bowl triumphs in the last four seasons. He has played nine seasons in the NFL.

Bruschi played in last Sunday's Pro Bowl.
