EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Vince Carter scored 23 points Sunday night to lead the New Jersey Nets to a 94-79 victory over the Denver Nuggest.

Jason Kidd added 13 points and eight assists and Ron Mercer had 12 points.

Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets with 18 points and Kenyon Martin, playing his first game in New Jersey since being traded to Denver, had 13 points.

The Nets scored the first eleven points of the third quarter to build a 62-43 lead.
