JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- New England defensive end Richard Seymour will be available to play in Sunday's Super Bowl contest against Philadelphia.

He has missed the Patriots' last three games because of a knee injury and will wear a heavy knee brace.

The 6-6, 310-pound Seymour, one of the NFL's best defensive linemen, has not played since he injured his left knee against the New York Jets on Dec. 26. He was cleared to play after practice Wednesday.

"He did everything we asked him to do, so he's good to go," said Coach Bill Belichick.

Seymour was voted to his third consecutive Pro Bowl after a season in which he compiled 67 tackles and five sacks in 15 games.
