MOBILE, Ala., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Akron quarterback Charlie Frye won MVP honors Saturday while leading the North to a 23-13 win over the South in the college football Senior Bowl.

Frye completed 10 of 12 passes for 138 yards and a TD. Kansas State running back Darren Sproles had a 24-yard touchdown gallop. Ohio State's Mike Nugent kicked three field goals for the North.

Georgia quarterback David Greene completed 11 of 16 passes, including a five-yard strike to Matt Jones of Arkansas for the South's only TD. Jonathan Nichols of Ole Miss kicked two field goals in the loss.
