NBA: Minnesota 92, Portland 83

PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 23 (UPI) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves won 92-83 over the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore., Saturday night.

Fred Hoiberg had 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter, while Wally Szczerbiak led Minnesota with 18 points. Kevin Garnett scored 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds for the Timberwolves.

Damon Stoudamire had 23 points for the Trial Blazers. Ruben Patterson scored 19 points for Portland, while Darius Miles, who was activated off the injured list, scored with 3:10 left in the fourth quarter to pull the Blazers within three at 78-75.
