Woods ties Lehman in Buick Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods birdied two of the first five holes of his third round Saturday to tie Tom Lehman for the lead during the third round of the Buick Invitational.

Lehman is one over par through four holes as fog has hindered the event since Friday. Two fog delays Saturday led to play being suspended due to darkness.

The 81 players that made the cut will return to complete their third rounds at 10:30 a.m. EST Sunday with the final round starting after the conclusion of round three.

Woods, who is playing alongside Lehman, rolled in a birdie putt at the par-four 10th. He came right back at 11 where he holed out from a bunker for birdie.

Lehman, the U.S. Ryder Cup captain, opened with back-to-back pars as his group opened on the back nine on the South Course. The 1996 British Open Champion stumbled to a bogey at the par-four 12th.
