NBA: Memphis 109, Charlotte 89

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Pau Gasol produced 19 points Friday night and Memphis handed Charlotte the worst home loss in the Bobcats' inaugural season, 109-89.

Memphis won for the seventh time in eight games. James Posey had 17 points for the Grizzlies while Shane Battier added 15 and Jason Williams 14.

Emeka Okafor scored 17 for Charlotte, which has lost nine of 11.

Memphis steadily built its lead in the second quarter and had a 14-point halftime advantage.

The Grizzlies put the game away with an 11-2 run to end the third period.
