Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ADELAIDE, Australia, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Swede Joachim Johansson of Sweden beat fifth-seeded American Taylor Dent in straight sets Sunday to win the Next Generation Hardcourts.
Johansson, a 2004 U.S. Open semifinalist, has now reached at the least the quarterfinals in his last seven straight tournaments.
Johansson, 22, won 7=5, 6-3 Sunday.
Dent, who did not win a title in 2004, was appearing in his sixth career final.
