COL BKB: Mississippi St 87, Ole Miss 76

OXFORD, Miss., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Lawrence Roberts had 23 points and seven rebounds Saturday as No. 22 Mississippi State posted an 87-76 victory over Mississippi.

The Bulldogs (14-2, 2-0 SEC) won their eighth straight game.

Tommie Eddie scored 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor to pace the Rebels (9-6, 0-2), who lost their second straight SEC game.

The Bulldogs held a 44-37 lead at halftime and increased theirs lead to 60-49 early in the second-half with a pair of three-pointers by Jamall Edmondson and Ontario Harper.
