Tech's B.J. Elder sidelined by injury

ATLANTA, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Georgia Tech guard B.J. Elder could be out of the lineup up to three weeks because of a severe left hamstring strain, it was reported Thursday.

Elder, a 6-4 senior, was injured a loss at Kansas Saturday. He has been the second-leading scorer for the 10th-ranked Yellow Jackets this season, averaging 13.2 points per contest in 11 games.

"The bottom line is everybody is going through injuries now. It's that time of the year," Coach Paul Hewitt said in a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "And it's not like the non-conference schedule where there was more time between games. Now they're coming two and three a week. But everybody is dealing with it."

Anthony Morrow, a freshman, is expected to see more time in Elder's absence. Morrow has averaged 12.7 points in Tech's last three games.
