Plummer, Bulger get NFL weekly honors

NEW YORK, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Quarterbacks Jake Plummer of Denver and Marc Bulger of St. Louis won AFC and NFC Player of the Week honors Wednesday.

Plummer passed for 246 yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos' 33-14 win over Indianapolis. Bulger had 450 yards passing with three touchdowns in the Rams' 32-29 overtime victory over the New York Jets.

Other AFC honorees were New England linebacker Tedi Bruschi (defense), who made 15 tackles in the Patriots' 21-7 win over San Francisco, and Pittsburgh Steelers placekicker Jeff Reed (special teams).

Their NFC counterparts were Green Bay end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (defense) and New Orleans end Tony Bryant (special teams).
