COL FB: Auburn 16, Virginia Tech 13

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Third-ranked Auburn completed a perfect season Monday by beating Virginia Tech 16-13 in the Sugar Bowl.

Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell passed for 195 yards and a touchdown and the Tigers' defense held Virginia Tech scoreless until late in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers (13-0) also got three field goals by John Vaughn.

Virginia Tech's Bryan Randall passed for 281 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown toss to Josh Morgan.

Auburn intercepted Randall twice, once late in the game.
