CHICAGO, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Former NFL great Reggie White was honored Sunday by one of his former teams.

During Green Bay's 31-14 win over Chicago, Packers' players wore a helmet decal featuring the number 92 White wore during his six seasons with the team.

White, who died Dec. 26 from what is believed to be respiratory failure, was buried Friday in Charlotte, N.C.

The team sent a contingent of nearly 50 current and former players to his funeral.

White is believed to be only the second player honored with a Packers' helmet decal. Players wore a No. 3 decal after Hall of Famer Tony Canadeo died in 2003.

The team said players will wear the decal through the post-season.

White also played for Philadelphia and Carolina. He retired in 2000 as the NFL's all-time leader in sacks. The mark was later passed Bruce Smith.
