NFL: Seattle 28, Atlanta 26

SEATTLE, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Matt Hasselbeck passed for two touchdowns and ran for another Sunday as Seattle nipped Atlanta 28-26 and won the NFC West Division title.

Hasselbeck completed 21 of 27 passes for 191 yards. Shaun Alexander fell one yard shy of the NFL rushing title, as he gained 80 yards for Seattle (9-7). Alexander totaled 1,696 yards this season.

The Seahawks, who won their first division title since 1999, will host St. Louis next Saturday in the first round of the playoffs. The Rams defeated Seattle twice this season, including a 33-27 overtime victory at Seattle on Oct. 10.

Warrick Dunn rushed for 132 yards on 25 carries for Atlanta (11-5), which lost its final two regular-season contests. Dunn ended the year with 1,106 yards, marking his third career 1,000-yard campaign.

Quarterback Michael Vick played in the first half for Atlanta, then sat out the remainder of the game.
