LAS VEGAS, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Jason Maxiell scored 30 points Thursday night to send No. 17 Cincinnati coasting past Longwood, 95-69.

Cincinnati has opened the season with 11 straight victories, the second straight year the Bearcats have done so.

Jihad Muhammad added 15 for Cincinnati, which will meet No. 1 Illinois Friday night in the finale of the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.

Michael Jefferson scored 27 points for Longwood (1-15), which is playing in Division I for just the second year.
