PHOENIX, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Oregon State took a three-touchdown lead in the first half and went on to beat Notre Dame 38-21 Tuesday in the Insight Bowl.

Derek Anderson threw four touchdown passes for the Beavers (7-5). Joe Newton caught two of the scoring passes.

Brady Quinn tossed two touchdown passes for Notre Dame (6-6).

The Fighting Irish ended their season with three straight defeats.
