COL BKB: Cincinnati 77, Miami-Ohio 53

CINCINNATI, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Eric Hicks had career-highs with 21 points and 17 rebounds Monday to lead the 17th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats to a 77-53 victory over Miami-Ohio.

James White and Armein Kirkland both scored 18 points for the unbeaten Bearcats (10-0).

Doug Penno had 11 points and Danny Horace 10 for the outclassed RedHawks (6-3).

Miami led 9-8 early on, but the Bearcats used a 6-0 run, with 3-pointers by Kirkland and White, to grab a 14-9 edge five minutes into the game. Cincinnati never trailed again.

The Bearcats opened the second half by scoring 17 of the first 22 points to put the game out of reach. Cincinnati led by 29 points midway the second half.
